Manifesto of True Orthodoxy
We are Orthodox Christians and part of the worldwide Orthodox Church – the oldest Christian Church in the world. This is not a theological statement, it is an historical one.
In every part of the world, there are Orthodox Christians, churches and missions. In traditionally Orthodox countries like Russia, Greece, Romania, Serbia, the Holy Land, the Middle East, but also in Japan, China, the Philippines, Australia, throughout Europe, including Germany, France, Poland, Finland, across the British Isles, throughout the African continent including Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Malaysia and all of Central and South America.
We are precisely the same Church around the globe and throughout the times, preaching the Gospel, teaching the Lord’s commandments and worshiping God in spirit and in truth, just as we have done from the beginning of Christianity.
We are the church established by Christ, taught by Christ, that the Church Fathers and saints have protected many times with their lives and handed down the faith unchanged until today. We are following the example of Christ and still teach His word just as He taught his disciples.
All Orthodox churches are in communion by virtue of faith, practice and denominational identity. Unfortunately, many Orthodox jurisdictions choose either not to exercise full communion with their brothers and sisters or flat out refuse to do so with those whom they have more or less arbitrarily excluded. Hence, such elitism is not true Orthodox.
